Madrid, April 16, 2020. SegurCaixa Adeslas provides a support fund of 160 million euros to provide liquidity to the professionals of its medical staff and hospital providers affected by the crisis of the COVID-19. Due to the reduction of their usual activity since the alarm state was established, these professionals and health centers bear a significant financial impact that the company wants to help mitigate.
The measures will allow collaboration with professionals from the Adeslas medical and hospital staff and attend individually to the needs raised. In this sense, Adeslas initiates a series of actions that will facilitate the continuity of professionals and health centers during this period and will allow the recovery of their activity once the crisis is over.
These measures include speeding up the payment deadlines for the services provided or the granting of advances adapted to the needs of each provider. These measures will be in effect to assist the providers up to and including 18 months following the end of the state of alarm. The fund will be used to finance this type of action according to the needs of the health providers.
These actions are in addition to others already taken by SegurCaixa Adeslas to reduce the consequences of the crisis among this group. Adeslas is facilitating the health care required by policyholders affected by the coronavirus through the agreed medical chart. Platforms to care for patients who are confined to their homes have also been deployed. Thus, the means have been provided to enable consultation by telephone and video consultation to the medical team for patient care, avoiding travel and risks of contagion for both professionals and policyholders.
The 27 Adeslas medical centers, for their part, remain open to serve patients following the guidelines set by the health departments of each Autonomous Community.
Dental clinics have temporarily ceased normal activity to increase the safety of both professionals and patients. For this, emergency activity is maintained in 50 Adeslas dental clinics, which have attended to more than 5,000 dental emergencies since the declaration of the state of alarm.
SegurCaixa Adeslas also participates with a fund of 2.7 million Euros promoted by the insurance sector. This fund is endowed with 37 million Euros for collective life insurance and hospitalization allowance for health professionals fighting against the pandemic.
All these measures show Adeslas' commitment to the healthcare sector and its desire to continue cooperating with the medical team to provide the best healthcare for clients at all times.
